Exciting News: Kings Fitness and Leisure Expands Services

Dear Member,

Thank you for your continued support of Kings Fitness and Leisure. I am writing to share some exciting news. You’ll be aware that we are part of the Wessex Learning Trust, and have been working with our central team colleagues and are pleased to announce the following:

Kings Fitness and Leisure will be taking full responsibility for the outdoor swimming pool located on the grounds of Wedmore First Academy.

The pool will now operate as part of our business. This will be one year initially and at the end of the year we will assess the viability, with the hope of continuing in future years.

How this will look: During the school day, the outdoor pool will be used to provide swimming lessons to schools within the Wessex Learning Trust. This will reduce travel costs to the Leisure Centre and open more opportunities for public swimming during the day at Kings Fitness and Leisure. Kings Fitness and Leisure will be offering swimming lesson crash courses at the outdoor pool during the school holidays, starting from the May Half Term.

We will also be putting together a full programme throughout the summer, offering public swimming opportunities. Bookings will be made directly with Kings Fitness, and we will keep you updated with details.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Wedmore First School and their PTA, and other local volunteers who have previously contributed time and effort in maintaining the pool to date. This is a valuable community resource, and we are excited to make it a success. Thank you again for your support, and we look forward to sharing more details soon.
