Junior Aquathlon Athlete Information 2026!

Athletes & Parents,

We’re looking forward to welcoming you to the Junior Aquathlon this Saturday, 9th May! Please read the important information below before arriving:

  • Please arrive at Kings Fitness 30 minutes before your allocated wave start time to allow time for registration, wristband collection and safety information.
  • Athletes should aim to arrive swim ready where possible and use the toilets before their wave starts. Toilets are available inside the leisure centre only.
  • If required, lockers will be available in the changing rooms. Please remember your wristband.
  • Pink & Blue Band athletes should place running clothes and towels in transition before waiting poolside. Parents may accompany athletes at this stage (like swimming lessons). Signage and staff will be available to help.
  • Orange, Purple, Green, Yellow & Red Band athletes should take running clothes poolside and place them in transition before their swim. Staff will support throughout.
  • Parents may re-enter transition after the event to collect belongings. Please keep items left in transition to a minimum as other athletes will still be competing.
  • The run course is a 400m loop. Athletes are responsible for counting their laps, with staff and volunteers on hand to encourage and support.
  • Spectators can enjoy the atmosphere from the pool viewing area and finish line. To access the finish line: exit the leisure centre at reception, cross at the zebra crossing and head towards the astro turf. Staff will direct you.
  • Once athletes finish, athletes will collect a medal & staff will help guide children back to their adults.
  • Please bring your Junior Activities Passport if you have one. Prizes and shiny stickers will be available at the finish line.
  • After the event, athletes can enjoy the bouncy castles in the Sports Hall and refreshments from Lattetude Coffee Shop.

Please don’t forget to bring:

  • Swimwear & towel
  • Goggles
  • Running trainers, t-shirt and shorts (if you are swimming in swim shorts you can run in these)!
  • A warm coat/hoodie for after the event
  • Water bottle
  • Junior Activities Passport (if you have one)
  • Spare clothes/shoes in case of wet weather
